Background & History

AlasConnect was founded in 1999 as the telecommunications subsidiary of Golden Valley Electric Association in Fairbanks, Alaska. Initially providing fiber optic based telecommunications services in the interior of Alaska, AlasConnect expanded to offer Data Center and Managed IT Services in 2003, including a full regional hosting solution for business software and data.

Since that time, AlasConnect has expanded to serve over 100 professional businesses both within and outside of Alaska. With staffed offices in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Palmer, our focus remains on providing a excellent customer experience, reliable technology solutions and enabling our customers to grow their core business in Alaska’s challenging and dynamic environment.

In 2015, AlasConnect was purchased by MTA providing a strategic alliance allowing us to augment our deep technical background with the capabilities and network reach provided by Alaska’s premier broadband network.

We know that Alaska is a “small town” and if you can’t get the job done, everybody knows it. Our reputation is everything to us and we continue to work hard every day to earn the trust of our customers, through unparalleled service and support.
